A Happy Eastertide. B.W. 354 Printed in Germany
Post marked Columbus, Ohio. Apr 9, 1909. Addressed to Mr. Lee Weaver, Tireman St. Cor Scotten Ave, Detroit, Mich.
“Dear all: I received your card the other day. I hope you will like the steamer. Write and tell me what you are going to do on it. Are at home now. Tell me you address when you go to work. As ever, your friend, F. [Florence] Koontz”
In April of 1909, Grandpa Lee was just turning 16. This was going to be his first season working on the Great Lakes steamers. From pictures, it appears he was a steward. He never talked about his “time at sea”. Grandma Florence would have been turning 14 at the time she wrote this card.
