Easter Joys be Thine – 1921

Easter0010

Easter Joys be Thine.  Series 779 C. Stecher Lith. Co., Roch. N.Y.  Made in U.S.A.

Post marked Columbus, Ohio.  Mar 24, 1921.  Addressed to Leila Weaver, 4238 Tireman Av., Detroit, Mich.

“Aunt Essie [Essie Koontz Postal]”

Aunt Essie was Grandma Florence’s older sister.  In 1921, she was back in Columbus, living with Great Grandma Koontz waiting to divorce her first husband, Louis Postal.  She later married, Uncle Harold [Harold Spuhler], one of the family favorites!.   Aunt Essie did a lot better her second choice!  It might have helped that the two were ½ First Cousins, once removed.

It appears everyone in the Koontz household was sending 18 month old Aunt Leila Easter greetings in 1921.

About Pat Shaul

Genealogist / Family Historian; Blog started as a record of my Grandfather's post card collection which ran for 15 months. Then, in June, 2017, I changed over to reporting and commenting on notifications from the ANCESTRY app "We're Related" I then started to provide snippets into ancestor biographies on the dates that were significant anniversaries.
