Old Cousin Adlai is questionable due to our MRCA, Thomas Stevens (1622-1737).   One branch of his family became Stephens – his daughter – and one remained Stevens – his son.  This looks very suspicious in the way trees are being mashed together by We’re Related.  I wish I could have more confidence in the reporting, but there is just too much “guess this fits” in the trees they bring in.  I’ll keep this on file in case I can find evidence of the name change.  After all there are Adlai II, III, and IV yet to be reported.
