Goodale Park Lake, Columbus, Ohio – 1909

The Hugh C. Leighton Co., Manufacturers, Portland, ME. U.S.A.  Made in Germany 1289

Post marked Columbus, Ohio, Jul 1, 1909

“Dear Friend, Did you get that birthday card I sent you?   I got yours Sat.  Was glad to hear from you.  As ever, your friend.”

Post card from Florence Koontz to Lee Weaver — both birthdays were in May, so we know they were not really concerned about being right on time, or, maybe they were just being coy.  An interesting point is that the card was simply addressed:
Mr Lee Weaver
Tireman St.
Cor Scotten Ave.
Detroit, Mich.
and  it was delivered.   Simpler times!

About Pat Shaul

Genealogist / Family Historian; Blog started as a record of my Grandfather's post card collection which ran for 15 months. Then, in June, 2017, I changed over to reporting and commenting on notifications from the ANCESTRY app "We're Related" I then started to provide snippets into ancestor biographies on the dates that were significant anniversaries.
