The Spring, OSU – 1910

SpringOSU1910

The Spring, Ohio State University – Columbus, Ohio.

Post marked Columbus, Ohio, Jun 1, 1910.  Addressed to Mr. Lee Weaver, S.S. Eastern States, Detroit, Mich.

“1346 W. Broad St [just in case Grandpa forgot her address] Dear Friend, It has been raining all day.  The folks had a surprise party on the 18th [Grandma’s birthday],  I got a lot of nice presents.  FMK [Florence Marie Koontz]”

Multiple pieces of information.  first Grandpa Lee was working on the S.S. Eastern States on the Great Lakes that summer.  Grandma Florence wanted to make sure he knew that her birthday had come and gone and that she had gotten a number of nice presents — since there was not mention, there must not have been one from him.

About Pat Shaul

Genealogist / Family Historian; Blog started as a record of my Grandfather's post card collection which ran for 15 months. Then, in June, 2017, I changed over to reporting and commenting on notifications from the ANCESTRY app "We're Related" I then started to provide snippets into ancestor biographies on the dates that were significant anniversaries.
