Greetings Rose – 1908

GreetingsRose1908

Greetings.

Post marked Columbus, Ohio, Nov 29, 1908.  Addressed to Mr. Lee Weaver, Tireman St, Cor. Scotten Ave., Detroit, Mich.

“Dear Lee, I will ans your cards today as I have nothing else to do.  Mamma [Phebie Ann Garnder Koontz] has been havin the sick headache all morning.  As ever, Florence [Koontz]”

Wow!  Talk about downplay her interest.  Grandma is going to ans (note the use of shorthand words, long before the character limit of Twitter) Grandpa’s cards because she had nothing else to do.   Well, in 1908, Grandma was 13 and Grandpa was 15.

Then, in June, 2017, I changed over to reporting and commenting on notifications from the ANCESTRY app "We're Related" I then started to provide snippets into ancestor biographies on the dates that were significant anniversaries.
