Elks’ Club Building, Parkersburg, W. Va. – 1910

ElksClub1910

Elks’ Club Building, Parkersburg, W. Va.  219423.  The Leighton & Valentine Co., N.Y. City. Printed in the United States.

Post marked Parkersburg, WV, Dec. 30, 1910.  Addressed to Mrs Effie [Lee] Weaver, 94 Tireman Ave.  Detroit, Mich.

“A Happy New Year.  Mr & Mrs Sherwood”

I am not sure who the Sherwoods were — they do not appear in any of my family records. But, the card was sent to Great Grandmother Weaver and Grandpa added it to his collection.  Notice, this is one of the first post cards that calls out that it was printed in the United States — most of the others, if any origin is given, were printed in Germany.

About Pat Shaul

Genealogist / Family Historian; Blog started as a record of my Grandfather's post card collection which ran for 15 months. Then, in June, 2017, I changed over to reporting and commenting on notifications from the ANCESTRY app "We're Related" I then started to provide snippets into ancestor biographies on the dates that were significant anniversaries.
