“Jan. 29, 1912. Dear Cousin, I got home all O.K. It was 7:40 when I got home. I walked to Berg Road [home of Esther Jenks Lee, grandmother of both Lee and Mae] stopped to Aunt Ora’s [Ora Lee Churches, sister of Effie Lee Weaver and Marietta Lee Wright] then Pearl [Pearl Geneva Churches, Ora’s daughter] came up to Ed Churches [Edward Albert Churches, older brother of Robert Richard Churches (husband of Hannah Almira Lee Churches) and George W. Churches (husband of Ora Lee Churches)] with me. I found all the folks better. Stella [Estella Wright, Mae’s older sister] had been home but had gone back before I come. All of the kids have gone to ride down hill. Even Miss McVicar [unknown reference] — Well must close.Love to all. Mae [Mariam Mae Wright] [then written across the top of the card] Is Florence mad?”
