Hello! Are you there? – 1912

Hello!  Are you there?  I really was so Anxious I couldn’t stop to write.  So thought I’d better phone you to know if you’re all right.   B. B. London  Series No. E 97.  Printed in Germany.

Post marked Redford, Mich. Feb. 12, 1912.  Addressed to Mrs. Effie [Lee] Weaver, 94 Tireman Ave., Detroit, Mich.

“Feb 8, 1912.  Dear Aunt – How are you and all the rest?  We are getting along fine.  Momma [Marietta Lee Wright] and Esther [Esther Rebecca Wright, Mae’s sister born 1 Feb 1912] are getting along nicely.   Yesterday Aunt Ora [Ora Lee Churches] was up to-day.  Mary [unknown reference] and Grandma [Esther Jenks Lee] are over.  Well I must close for it is about for the mail man.  So long.  Mae W. [Mariam Mae Wright].   [Apparently, she missed, because across the top is written]  Monday, Feb. 12, 1912.  Momma is up this afternoon.  Stella [Estelle Wright, Mae’s older sister] and I have washed.  Mae W.”

As usual, a lot of information packed on the back of one post card.

About Pat Shaul

Genealogist / Family Historian; Blog started as a record of my Grandfather's post card collection which ran for 15 months. Then, in June, 2017, I changed over to reporting and commenting on notifications from the ANCESTRY app "We're Related" I then started to provide snippets into ancestor biographies on the dates that were significant anniversaries.
