Flood, Columbus, Ohio – 1913

Speacemaker Grocery (explosion)  Flood 1913

Post marked Columbus, Ohio,  Jun 7, 1913.  Addressed to Mr. Lee Weaver, 199 South Main St., Akron, Ohio

“Col. Ohio, June 7, 1913.   Hello Lee, Thought maybe you had a flood in Detroit.  What are you doing in Akron?  I am very busy at school now,  exams next week.  Ans and let me know you got this card.  Florence [Koontz].     X is the height of water.”

OK, so Grandpa didn’t tell Grandma he was working in Akron.  Grandma worried that the flood in Columbus came up to Detroit — that was really Grandma.

About Pat Shaul

Genealogist / Family Historian; Blog started as a record of my Grandfather's post card collection which ran for 15 months. Then, in June, 2017, I changed over to reporting and commenting on notifications from the ANCESTRY app "We're Related" I then started to provide snippets into ancestor biographies on the dates that were significant anniversaries.
