Easter Greetings – 1921

Easter0008

EASTER Greetings.  It’s for purely selfish reasons that I send this card, ’tis true, Because it brings me happiness to greet a friend like you!

Post marked Columbus, Ohio.  Mar 24, 1921.  Addressed to Miss Lela [Leila Marie] Weaver, 4238 Tireman Av., Detroit, Mich.

“How do you do my little girl?  When are you coming to me again?  With Love, G. Koontz [Grandma Koontz – Phebie Ann Gardner Koontz]”

This Easter card was sent by my Great Grandmother to my 18 month old Aunt.  Great Grandma consistently spelled Leila’s name Lela.  Also of interest in the addressing of the card is the change of address from 92 to 4238 Tireman.   Grandma Florence and Grandpa Lee did not move.  The City of Detroit renumbered all the residences and 92 became 4238.

About Pat Shaul

Genealogist / Family Historian; Blog started as a record of my Grandfather's post card collection which ran for 15 months. Then, in June, 2017, I changed over to reporting and commenting on notifications from the ANCESTRY app "We're Related" I then started to provide snippets into ancestor biographies on the dates that were significant anniversaries.
