David Glasgow Farragut – fostered genealogy

DavidGlasgowFarragut

Admiral Farragut as a cousin was quite impressive.   My lineage kept going with names and dates beyond my documented 5th great grandmother, Thankful Isham (1752-1834) for another 5 generations to our MRCA, Richard Ingraham (1600-1683).  Not a single PRIVATE in my line nor in the Admirals.   Then, I read his biography on Wikipedia – something We’re Related seemed to have attached but not referenced.   The lineage given to David Farragut is that of David Porter, HIS FOSTER FATHER.   Uh, We’re Related, that is NOT how it works.

About Pat Shaul

Genealogist / Family Historian; Blog started as a record of my Grandfather's post card collection which ran for 15 months. Then, in June, 2017, I changed over to reporting and commenting on notifications from the ANCESTRY app "We're Related" I then started to provide snippets into ancestor biographies on the dates that were significant anniversaries.
