Arrrgh — Captain Cook, 6C6R

JamesCook

In a recent notification, coincident with Talk Like A Pirate Day, I was notified that Captain James Cook was my sixth cousin, six times removed.  My lineage report, like the one yesterday for Cousin Kiefer, explodes the Botsford – Prindle line and correctly identifies the father of Hannah!  Apparently, We’re Related has abandoned the bad tree that they proposed in the connection to the late, great Patsy Cline.   Anyway, the MRCA, James Cunningham (1550-1630) is two generations beyond my documented 9th great grandfather, James Pringle (1602-1634) which gives me a good direction to begin a deeper dive into that line.  So thank you, We’re Related!   I will not put the entries into the database as of yet, but will do my due diligence and research, research, research and if everything pans out, then make then entries and call the Captain, Cousin!

About Pat Shaul

Genealogist / Family Historian; Blog started as a record of my Grandfather's post card collection which ran for 15 months.
