Mark Twain – and the twain shall never meet.

MarkTwain

Mark Twain, real name, Samuel Clemens, as my 7th cousin 4 times removed is not new.  Here in #337, my lineage beyond my 4th great grandfather, Samuel Lane (1769-xxxx) starts going upward to our MRCA, Thomas Corbin (1594-1638) through Samuel’s mother, Mary Corbin (dates unknown).  But, in the earlier #39, Samuel goes through to his father, Samuel Lane (1736-1812) and then Jane Corbin (1708-1773), and then up to the same MRCA.  The lineage for the Corbin line in both reports are different.  It is like We’re Related said “Oh, you thought we messed up on the lineage for you in #39, how about the one in #337?”  So, now I have two possible ways to look at that lineage.  I might just start at the MRCA, Thomas Corbin and see if any of the descendants really align.  It might be faster and easier.

    Samuel Langhorne Clemens is my 6th cousin, 5x removed. Twain’s 6th great-grandfather was John Taliaferro (1656 – 1720) through his son Robert H. Taliferro (1626 – 1687). John Taliaferro (1656 – 1720) was my 9th great-grandfather through his daughter Mary Taliaferro (1686 – 1720).
