Winston Churchill – Statesman and Cousin?

WinstonChurhill

Winston Churchill appears as my 8th cousin, twice removed, in the most recent notification from We’re Related — #340.  In this iteration, our MRCA is Francis Baker (1611-1696), the great grandfather of my furthest documented ancestor in that lineage, Dinah Harris (1702-1796), my 6th great grandmother.   This lineage follows the Jenks  → Smith → Harris , →King → Baker lineage.    In an earlier reporting, #43. We’re Related has Winnie as my 7th cousin, three times removed, though our MRCA, Abigail Burt (1623-1692).  Abigail is the great grandmother of my furthest documented ancestor in that lineage, John Munn (1712-1785), my 6th great grandfather.  This lineage follows the Lee → Munn → Burt lineage.  In Cousin Winston’s Lineage the two meet up at his grandparents: #43 – Leonard Walter Jerome (1817-1891) and #340 – Clarissa Hall (1825-1895), the parents of Jennie Jerome (1854-1921), Winston Churchill’s mother.   So, to prove my link to Winston, I can attack either line the Munn → Burt or the Harris → King → Baker.  If it all pans out, it will show that not only is he my cousin, but he is also his own cousin!

About Pat Shaul

Genealogist / Family Historian; Blog started as a record of my Grandfather's post card collection which ran for 15 months. Then, in June, 2017, I changed over to reporting and commenting on notifications from the ANCESTRY app "We're Related" I then started to provide snippets into ancestor biographies on the dates that were significant anniversaries.
