Margaret Mead – 9C1R – maybe, maybe not.

MargaretMead

Margaret Mead became notification # 353 with our MRCA, Simon Hyatt (1590-1657).  In the pedigree presented, Simon had two children, both with the surname of Hoyt.  Not sure if this is just a casual re-naming or is in actuality a true error.  Without research I am not putting this into my “real” database.  Margaret is supposed to be my 9th cousin, once removed in this report.  In notification # 103, we are 8th cousins, twice removed, through MRCA,  Alice Strong (1606-1697).  Alice was the supposed grandmother of my furthest documented ancestor in this line, my 7th great grandmother, Lydia Dean (1679-1726).  The two reports cross at Margaret’s parents: Edward Sherwood Mead and Emily Fogg.  With some investigation, #103 might be readily verifiable.

About Pat Shaul

Genealogist / Family Historian; Blog started as a record of my Grandfather's post card collection which ran for 15 months. Then, in June, 2017, I changed over to reporting and commenting on notifications from the ANCESTRY app "We're Related" I then started to provide snippets into ancestor biographies on the dates that were significant anniversaries.
