We’re Related tells me that the Four Star, Secretary of State, Chief of Staff,  is my 8th cousin, twice removed, though our MRCA, Jonathan Briggs (1635-1690), the proposed great grandfather of Sarah Thrasher (1740-1769), my 6 times great grandmother.  In addition, I have documentation that Grandmother Sarah Thrasher’s mother’s given name was Lydia.  We’re Related proposes that her mother’s full name was Lydia Briggs (1690-1757).  That is an avenue to investigate, but going into the research I question Lydia Briggs giving birth at the age of 50.   I know it is not impossible, but it is unusual.
