Milton Clarence Botsford
February 20, 1813, marks the 206th anniversary of Milton Clarence Botsford, my half first cousin, 5 times removed. He was born in Salisbury, Connecticut to Lemuel and Lucy Smith Botsford. He passed away on 15 November 1883 in Clarenceville, Wayne Co, Michigan. It was the between the dashed that made cousin Clarence significant to the Farmington, Michigan, region.
He was a member of a large family which had come to Farmington in 1836. Milton Botsford purchased the Botsford Inn for $4,000 in 1847. The Botsford Inn still stands as an Historic Landmark in the city of Farmington. [And yes, that is Henry Ford sitting by the fire, a frequent guest at the Inn]
Wow, that’s quite a beard!
