Greetings.

Post Marked Mount Clemens, Mich.  May 18, 1910.  Addressed to Mrs. Lemuel Weaver [Effie Lee Weaver], 94 Tireman Ave, Detroit, Mich.

“May 18, 1910   My Dear Aunt, All will leave here for your place Wed 25th after dinner.   I guess I can make it down there all right if you will meet me at Electry [Electricity] Car station.  I will take the Grand River St. car line.   I think it will be the best for me to go home and see how I get this one.  Now you send me a card card so I will no [know] you got it.  Your niece, Elora Weaver”

The street car was the primary transportation around southeast Michigan in the early 20th century.

About Pat Shaul

Genealogist / Family Historian; Blog started as a record of my Grandfather's post card collection which ran for 15 months. Then, in June, 2017, I changed over to reporting and commenting on notifications from the ANCESTRY app "We're Related" I then started to provide snippets into ancestor biographies on the dates that were significant anniversaries.
