Post marked Columbus, Ohio, Nov. 2, 1911.   Addressed to Mr. Lee Weaver, 94 Tremont St., Detroit, Mich. [Detroit post office corrected to 94 Tireman and delivered the post card]

“Oct 31, 1911.  Dear Friend, I received your card am sorry to say I could not read the S.H. as I think you took a different kind than I am taking.  I am taking the Pitman Howard. As ever, K[oontz]  [then written up the side of the card] I was glad to receive your card.”

This is interesting!  I really never knew that both Grandpa and Grandma took shorthand — even though they learned different methods.  In 1911, Grandpa [Lee Weaver] would have been in Cleary Business College and Grandma [Florence Koontz] would have been in Columbus High School.

In the 21st century, this would have gone to the dead letter bin at the Post Office instead of someone actually, correcting the address and making sure it got where it was intended.
