Driveway at Orchard Lake, Mich. 9011. — Second occurrence of this picture.
Post marked Birmingham, Mich. Feb 21, 1912. Addressed to Mr. Lee Weaver, 94 Tireman Ave. Detroit, Mich.
“Dear Lee, I am sorry but I can’t possibly come in for the dance as I am going to a social Friday night. I would like to but I couldn’t miss school the next day. You know Seymour [Seymour Arthur Jenks, Irene’s brother] was out Sun. Write soon and tell me about the dance. With love, Irene Jenks.”
Irene was Lee’s first cousin, once removed. Not sure when the dance took place. Possibly Sunday, since Irene was worried about missing school the next day. Irene’s parents, Oliver Torrey Jenks and Evelyn Roselia Seymour Jenks were among the early settlers in Birmingham.
