Christmas Greetings.  115. RB Co.  Boston, Mass. & Germany [signed L.W.]

No post mark.  No Address.

“12/23 ’08  Detroit, Mich.   Dear Friend,  Well seeing that I have not received a post card from you in a long time I will take the liberty of trying to wake you up.  Wishing you a Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year.  I remain Your Friend, L. [Lee] Weaver & Co.”

A couple of options here.  One, Grandpa never sent the card.  The second is that it was enclosed in an envelope and it made its way to Grandma who did save it and then the card made its way back into the collection.   I would assume this was written by 15 year old Grandpa Lee to 13 year old Grandma Florence.    Grandpa chided Grandma in a number of cards for being tardy in her correspondence.

About Pat Shaul

Genealogist / Family Historian; Blog started as a record of my Grandfather's post card collection which ran for 15 months. Then, in June, 2017, I changed over to reporting and commenting on notifications from the ANCESTRY app "We're Related" I then started to provide snippets into ancestor biographies on the dates that were significant anniversaries.
