Best Birthday Wishes – 1914.

Best Birthday Wishes.  I hope your birthday will be bright and trust that you will know the joy and mirth and all of worth that birthdays can bestow.  Design Copyrighted, John Winsch, 1913.  Printed in Germany.

Post marked Redford, Mich.  May 14, 1914.  Addressed to Mr. Lee G. Weaver, 92 Tireman Ave., Detroit, Michigan.

“Dear Cousin, With all good wishes for a happy birthday and many more to follow.  This is a beautiful day after the rain we has wasn’t it fierce?  Love to all, Estelle [Wright].  May 14, 1914”

Birthday greetings to Grandpa Lee on his 21st Birthday from his first cousin, Estelle who was one year to the day younger.  Estelle was the daughter of Great Grandmother Effie Lee Weaver’s sister, Marietta Lee Wright.

Interesting that the address changed from 94 to 92 Tireman.   Great Grandparents may have moved to the other unit in their duplex and rented out 94.  From the stories of Great Grandmother Weaver, it is doubtful she would have let Grandpa have 92 as his bachelor pad.  Eventually, Grandpa Lee and Grandma Florence lived in 92 and Great Grandparents Weaver lived in 94 from 1918 until well after 1923 since both of Lee and Florence’s children were born in the house on Tireman.

About Pat Shaul

Genealogist / Family Historian; Blog started as a record of my Grandfather's post card collection which ran for 15 months. Then, in June, 2017, I changed over to reporting and commenting on notifications from the ANCESTRY app "We're Related" I then started to provide snippets into ancestor biographies on the dates that were significant anniversaries.
