President Chester Alan Arthur showed up in notice # 419 as my 6th cousin, 5 times removed, through our MRCA, Alice Atkins (1576-1650), the proposed mother of John Stevens (1600-1670), my 9 times great grandfather and the furthest documented ancestor I have in that lineage.  So, did one more generation for a thumbs up or down on #419!

But, way long ago, in notice # 178, We’re Related, showed Cousin Chester as my 7th cousin, 4 times removed, through a MRCA,  William Sumner (1605-1688), the projected 4 times great grandfather of Mary Summers (1773-1860), my 4 times great grandmother.  Unfortunately, for this lineage, #178 claims grandmother’s father was Ebenezer Sumner; my documentation shows his name as being William.  So, investigation is needed here.
