Post marked Sep 7, 1908, Redford, Mich.   Addressed to Mr. Lee Weaver, Cor. Scotten and Tireman Ave., Detroit, Mich.

“DearCousin, I suppose you started school today.  I like my school very much.  Wish your mamma [Effie Lee Weaver] could come out to the Gleaners Wednesday.  They meet to Aunt Myra’s [Hannah Almira Lee Churches].  We had a nice visit with Evelyn [Evelyn Roselia Seymour Jenks] and Kitty [Kittie Lorain Chapman Jenks].   Uncle Willie [Lewellyn Lee] is cutting his corn, has one field all cut.   Hope you are well.  Stella [Estelle Wright, daughter of Effie’s sister, Marietta Lee Wright]”

Myra was Lee’s mother’s sister.  Willie was their brother.   Evelyn was Esther Jenks Lee’s (Effie, Myra and Willie’s mother) sister-in-law.  Kittie was the wife of Albert Arlington Jenks, Esther and Evelyn’s nephew..   The corn field was in what is being called Salt Lick Farm in Southfield. Michigan.   It was the property originally settled by Esther’s father, Morris Jenks in 1820.   The descendants of Morris and Almira Botsford Jenks lived in close proximity to each other.   Effie, Lemuel, and Lee Weaver were the branch that had moved off the farm and into the city.
