Board Walk, Wenona Beach – 1910

Board Walk, Wenona Beach, Bay City, Mich.  Pub. by I. Kern, “The Washington.”, Bay City, Mich.

Post marked Sep 2, 1910.  Bay City, Mich.   Addressed to Mrs Effie [Lee] Weaver, 94 Tyreman Ave, Detroit, Mich.

“Sept 2, 1910    Dear Sister, Just a word to tell you I will not be home untill Friday.  Aunt Alta [Alta Griffin Lee, wife of Albert Lewis Lee, Charles Norton Lee’s brother.   Charles is Effie’s father] not very well, Aunt Avie [Avis Lee Rice Barton, sister of Charles Norton Lee, Effie’s father] about the same.  Having a nice time.  Yours, Myra [Hannah Almira Lee Churches]

Avis hangs in there for another three years.    Alta lived for seven more years.  Interesting that Aunt Myra consistently spells the name of the street on which Effie lives as Tyreman.   It really is Tireman.  I guess she did not like the original spelling.

About Pat Shaul

Genealogist / Family Historian; Blog started as a record of my Grandfather's post card collection which ran for 15 months. Then, in June, 2017, I changed over to reporting and commenting on notifications from the ANCESTRY app "We're Related" I then started to provide snippets into ancestor biographies on the dates that were significant anniversaries.
