What were they thinking?????

Today, 9 July 2019, marks the 229th [1790] birthday of my 4 times great granduncle, Asahol Munn, son of Noah and Desire Hitchcock Munn.  Uncle Asahol was born in Gill, Massachusetts, the last of eight children. I have found no other records of Uncle — possible he decided to go by a different name?????
